“When you think about what you are claiming from an insurance perspective, it’s partly property damage, but it’s largely also business interruption. So, your lack of sales, your lack of being able to produce things, your lack of being able to distribute things.” Tina Kirby on Green Connections Radio podcast

We all have way too much experience with disasters after the past 15 months of covid – and we noticed that extreme weather events didn’t stop with covid either.  We still had massive, devastating hurricanes, tornados and wildfires.  That means we want to make sure we have good insurance to cover our homes, automobiles and businesses – and that it includes climate related damage too. Many business owners and homeowners found during hurricanes like Harvey and Maria that their insurance policies did not cover them as they thought they would, for example.

Listen to Tina Kirby, head of Insurance Innovators, translate insurance-speak for the rest of us and give us tips on how we can maximize our policies and what to ask to do so in this enlightening and engaging interview on Green Connections Radio podcast with host Joan Michelson.  Tina brings her 25+ years in the insurance industry, and is now working full time to reinvent it to benefit everyone in the 21st century economy.

You’ll hear:

  • How to decipher your current insurance policy and questions to ask before you renew it again.
  • Three steps for how your insurance policy could better mitigate your risks.
  • What to do if your insurance company says you’re not covered for the damage you incurred.
  • How to  build a movement in your community to pressure your elected officials and insurance commission to make the changes the community needs for realities on the ground today.
  • Plus great career advice!

“I would begin with what your passion is…and look for links between what you do and that passion you have, or that purpose you would like to see in your company…And be curious and openminded and help out wherever you can.” Tina Kirby on Green Connections Radio
